Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation- It is undeniable that the Indian government has far more influence in determining policies and programs for the country than the Constitution allows. Various centrally sponsored housing and urban development schemes, as well as lending through national financial institutions, are also implemented by the Government of India on national policy issues. Policies and program contents are decided when Five Year Plans are formulated. A greater influence is exerted on the pattern of urbanization and real estate investment by indirect effects of fiscal, economic, and industrial location decisions taken by the Indian Government.
As the apex authority of the Government of India on all issues of urban employment, poverty, and housing, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation formulates policies, sponsors, and supports programs, coordinates the activities of various Government Ministries, State Governments, and other nodal authorities, and monitors the programs.
National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana- There is a wealth of natural resources, historic sites, and cultural resources in India. The nation is a melting pot of different cultures, religions, and traditions, as well as home to a variety of art forms & handicrafts, music and literature, architectural styles, etc. In spite of this, it has not yet fully tapped into the full potential of such resources.
As part of its Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) scheme, the Ministry of Urban Development launched an initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of heritage cities holistically. By creating an aesthetically pleasing, accessible, informative, safe, and secure environment, the scheme aims to preserve and revitalize the soul of the heritage city.
Objective- Heritage-sensitive infrastructure planning, development, and implementation.
National Urban Digital Mission- Through the National Urban Digital Mission, urban ecosystems will be able to solve complex problems at scale and speed by establishing a shared digital infrastructure. Providing ready-to-use platforms, standards, specifications, and frameworks for ecosystem actors, it is built as a public good.
